The main objective of this event is to raise awareness in society (with a special focus on journalism and communication) about Amazon, Integral Ecology, sustainable lifestyles and how everything is globally connected. In this moment of the History we need a “call to action”, tools and inspirations in order to change the dominant narratives and also the daily praxis of journalism, media and communication as specific actors and influencers in seeking Systemic Change and holistic solutions.

CIDSE is strongly committed to the Synod of the Amazon also by drawing attention to the names of people, communities and territories of the Amazon that have been sacrificed to the logic of a greedy and colonialist economic system, which destroys resources, cultures, biodiversity and all the wonders of the Amazon rainforest, threatening in the same way the rest of the world. The CIDSE family has been at the side of the daily work of the communities of the Pan-Amazonian region who have been involved in the process of preparing the Synod, have identified the main social, economic, environmental and cultural challenges of the entire area and have denounced the serious violations of human rights and environmental damage they suffer.
